Birds...

In early April, we had a crazy robin who was attacking our windows. I don't have them clean yet-it's too cold to open them. This robin would go from window to window hitting his reflection, and leaving beak marks all over. I worried he'd knock himself out. But instead, he and his mate, Ethyl, made their nest in our second floor guest room window ledge.
Here's Fred, looking up at the nest from the ground.

On a different topic-our feeders are busy all day. Note the disgusted look on the face of the grackle. They would love it if no one else was allowed to eat there. We have to buy 16 cakes of suet every week until baby season is over.....But the rewards are worth it!
Here's two mourning doves that were busy near the feeders, just cleaning and hanging out.
 And here's Norton, our dove.
And here's what's in the nest now, at Fred and Ethyl's place...

This is so beautiful, Debra. Birds must know how much you love them! 16 suet cakes per week is a lot but that's how they know. You take the time, and money to provide for them, they are very smart! I love that you now have such a beautiful view of the nest through your window. They have rewarded you with that. I like your names...Fred and Ethel, and Norton… You must've been a children of 50s TV shows!

How thrilling to have a robin build a nest just for you! I can imagine the excitement of checking to see what progress has been made in nesting. And to see the babies in all of their tiny glory. :) Also love the pic of the jay and the chipmunk!

Hey! Happy Sunday!! Do you think you could post a pic of your feeders? I'm interested to see where your Dove is sitting. We have a new feeder set up and I need to figure out a feeder for the Doves that the squirrels can't get.

Grackles drive me nuts...I don't like them too much. They have got to be the noisiest birds alive, lol.

A few years ago we had a male Cardinal that was atacking our windows and our car windows too. Finally, we caught him in a bird trap and transported him off to new living quarters. We called him the Bad Bird..very original. Love your Fred and Ethyl.

What a wonderful post! I love watching the birds at this time of year. There is a small pond outside my studio window and I often see the birds out there.
