painting every day

It's work.
It can be very frustrating-
your eye sees one thing, your hand doesn't get it-yet.
But I'll keep trying!

I love it! This looks a great deal like my Millie dog's face and expression.

Oh thank you Chip! I am a bit shy about posting my stuff-I always see the flaws....

Oh I do love this, Debra! No flaws to me. I know the “work” you mean while trying to get back to painting here. I keep trying everyday, but I’m not nearly as accomplished. Actually, I’m in the early throes of deciding what kind of paint I like to use! It’s tiring, I’ve found.

This is Fantastic!! Have you seen JACK?? He is my daughter's dog and you really captured him. This is such a great painting. It may not be what your mind saw, but it's great. I think I might be your biggest fan!!

Hi Debra
You don't have to post this comment. I had to go back and embiggin the picture for a close look. I am totally amazed that the brush strokes of different shades create such a unison of color. See I don't know how to describe what I see using artist lingo. This is just such a stunning piece. I needed to see a close up of the eye too. This is one of my most favorite of your pieces.

Debra, by “painting every day” do you mean you start and complete a painting each day? Do you sketch or grid your paintings first? Just wondering....Barbara

Barbara-I am trying to paint every day, but I don't try to finish a painting every day. I'm happy with a few hours to work, re-work, or plan the next thing. I am overjoyed at my blog pals response-it will keep me going! Thank you!

And---no, I didn't grid this at all. I lightly sketched, using a beautiful photo from Pixabay-which is a free, no copyright worry place to share and use others' photos. It is legal to use them in any form, and to sell paintings made from the photos. Believe me, I read all the fine print. There are other sites like this out there, but I have found all I'll need right at Pixabay.

P.S. -if you saw the photo I used next to my painting-you'd see my flaws very plainly!!!

Debra, did you post a new painting? I see a thumbnail but not a post. Is blogger acting up again?
